What is the Mongol Rally?
The first Mongol Rally took place in 2004 with 6 teams. 14 years on, the concept remains almost identical, only with 400 more teams participating. Each team must identify their own route, but ultimately share one aim: to reach Ulan Ude, Russia, from
the new rally launch location just west of Prague. What entails is a 10,000 mile transcontinental trip across 5 mountain ranges, 3 deserts, and approximately 1/3rd of the globe over a period of 5-8 weeks, all whilst raising as much money for charity as possible.
The rules of the Rally are gloriously simple…
1. You can only take a farcically small vehicle of 1 litre or less
2. You’re completely on your own
3. You've got to raise at least £1000 for charity
